The term ‘dynamic risk assessment’ (DRA) is sometimes bandied around without a clear understanding of what it is or the part it can play in an effective risk management strategy. It is not a substitute for a pre-planned, recorded risk assessment! However, sometimes hazards and risks can’t be identified in advance.
There is no ‘one size fits all’ answer to DRA, and different people will take different decisions based on their experience, confidence and competence. The most important message to get across is that staff are not expected at any time to put themselves or others in danger. Use this training presentation to facilitate your awareness training.
