Overview

Welcome to your step-by-step guide for simple but effective risk assessments!

The objective of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to identify, assess and control hazards in the workplace, in accordance with HSE guidelines.

After this course you will know how to:

• Create a risk assessment using the HSE’s 5 steps approach
• Identify hazards in your workplace
• Use brainstorming techniques to involve your colleagues in hazard identification
• Decide which individuals might be harmed and how
• Evaluate and prioritise the risks from your identified hazards
• Decide on the control measures necessary to prevent harm
• Record and implement your findings
• Review and update your risk assessments.

You will receive an exercise book to help you create your own risk assessment step by step.
